Don’t move to Redcliffe!!!

This is a warning to anyone considering moving to Redcliffe, Queensland.

DON”T!

I say this because on the 19th December, 2008 I was assaulted because I crossed a driveway.

Yes, that’s right. Read it again if you think you’re seeing things.

And this wasn’t some driveway leading into a house. It was the driveway near the Cheesecake shop leading into Little Athletics field on Oxley Avenue.

And all I was doing was walking up to KFC to get some dinner with my girlfriend and daughter. I was happily minding my own business when I had to run from the middle of the driveway so I wouldn’t get run over. When I asked the guy if he could not run me over next time. He took offense to that, and started yelling at me. I told him that he almost ran me over, and could he watch out for pedestrians. That seemed to annoy him even more, so I tried to walk away. I turned around to see him following me, and I had no choice but to ask him to leave me alone. He didn’t, and kept following me.Had I kept walking, I would have gone across the driveway of the Cheesecake shop out of sight of his wife and three kids, and that would not have been a good thing. So again, I turned around and asked him to leave me alone.  The idiot then grabs me, drags me back across the Little Athletic Field’s driveway, and throws me to the ground. It was at this point that my girlfriend yells at him to let me leave me alone and that she’s calling the police. He must have realised it wouldn’t have been a good idea to keep going, because he allowed me to get up and then left me alone. I didn’t realise it at the time, but I had scraped my elbow when he threw me to the ground (later that night, my girfriend realised I had bruises on my upper arm and some small cuts and scratches on my right hand side. My foot also bruised and I was unable to walk for a few hours). What really puzzles me is why he kept abusing me and threatening physical harm when he knew my girfriend was on the phone to 000. The triple 0 operator had 2 police crews sent out, and said the incident was life threatening. I didn’t have charges laid, as I thought it was a waste of the court’s time. The law has better things to do than deal with clowns who can’t control their temper.

So there you have it. Don’t move to Redcliffe. You are probably safer where you are. Unless of course, you want to get assaulted, robbed, raped, or murdered, then please, by all means. Just don’t say you weren’t warned.

Bloody idiot

So two of my favourite sims 2 websites have gone down, and I don’t know if they will ever be back up. Because the guy that has taken them over is (seemingly) an idiot. He has said himself he has know technical knowledge of web sites. How do you run a website if you have no technical knowledge of them? I’m not talking DNS here, I’m talking about how to run a server (DNS is something else entirely, although it is linked with web sites). I know how to run a web site, hell I’ve even come close to setting up a forum on my own machine, exccept I have no knowledge of how to set up a mysql database for it.

Hopefully, InSIM Adult will come back online. There are a lot of great adult orientated mods and objects that I would still like to get.

And before I go, a big thankyou to Kathy and Eric (the previous owners of InSIM Adult and the Insimenator web sites) for handing the sites over to a total douche. Go rot in hell, ungrateful tossers.

Web servers and forums

So I’ve spent the lat few hours mucking around with various free web servers. Basically, they all suck. Except for one, but I’ll go into that later.

What I’ve been trying to do is set up my own web page and forum just to see if it can be done. Like I said, I’ve been playing around with some of the free web servers out there and they are all just shit. Except for the Apache web server. Running Windows XP, all I had to was download, install and start it as a service. End of story. No pissing around with config files or anything.

The next thing I was trying to do was set up my own forum, just to see if I could. So I downloaded phpBB version 3, My SQL and php. Guess what? I actually got as far as the phpBB config screen when I hit a snag: the mysql database. I have no idea how to create one, or in what directory it should go. I tried downloading phpmyadmin but I keep getting an error message. Still, it’s further than I got last time.

Anyway, I’m going to take a break from all this. My head hurts.
